When a few probes are deployed in a network, the reflectors used to take performance measurements can be other generic probes or generic equipment, such as routers.
It's a different story when hundreds or even thousands of probes take concurrent network performance measurements.
Those figures are easily reached, especially if such collected measurements feed Machine & Deep Learning Systems, whose Artificial Intelligence algorithms need large granular statistical samples to compute the network's actual conditions and confident predictions.
In that scenario, neither a generic probe nor a router can cope with the massive requests flood generated, making the whole measurement process unreliable or even utterly impossible.
OutSys ProbOS Versatile Network Probing Solution includes a specific module to address those high capacity needs: each of its Hi-Perf Reflector instances can handle tens of thousands of Broadband-Forum Quality Experience Delivered (Latency/Loss/Jitter), and dozens of UDP-SpeedTest (Bandwidth) concurrent measurements.
These Reflectors can be installed in any critical network junction where significant performance information could be obtained. For instance, a Broadband Service Provider could install them where its Internet eXchange Points are located to take measurements from its subscriber's CPEs, thus covering the network segment under its direct control.
OutSys ProbOS Hi-Perf Reflectors natively supports RFC-8762/RFC-8972 STAMP & RFC-5357 TWAMP (Light) for TR-452 QED, and TR-471/RFC-9097 for UDP-SpeedTest measurements.
This versatility allows the Hi-Perf Reflector to work with ProbOS Probes and other network performance probes supporting the above standards.
Furthermore, thanks to its modular, flexible, and extensible architecture, other standard and custom measurement protocols can be easily added to its toolset.
