OutSys ProbOS implements, among its several features, the Broadband-Forum Quality Experience Delivered (QED).
In addition to the usual latency, jitter, and packet-loss indicators, QED provides the knowledge that reveals whether and how the network performance can be improved.
To get that information, QED applies its mathematical models and algorithms to split the Network Trip Time into its quality degradation segments: Physical-Geographical, Data-Serialization, and Variable-Events (scheduling, shaping, congestion...).
This insight helps to choose the proper corrective actions. For instance, if the latency is mainly due to the Physical-Geographical segment, the solution would be taking the services closer to their consumers. However, if most of the latency is in the Variable-Events segment, such relocation would not be resolutive.
QED has a vast application range: Network Design, Proactive Troubleshooting, Capacity Planning, Service Level Agreement, and many others.
OutSys ProbOS-QED implementation provides an integrated, comprehensive, deployment, management, and analysis solution; multiplatform hardware/software/cloud probes and high-capacity reflectors.
